It is not fair, once you install OO.o on a windows computer it always start instantaneously, because it has a preloader. On GNU/linux it has to be activated :
Menu Tools >> Options >> select OpenOffice.org then memory in the left pane >> tick the quick starter box.
Voilà !!!
