The Linux community is going to put a Linux sponsored car in this year’s Indianapolis 500… and you can help! Today marks the launch of Tux500.com, a community-powered marketing effort!
I remember during the Asiasource II event, I was suggesting to place “Free Open Source Software” in movies, so instead of seeing a MAC or a windows screen when the characters are using a computer we would see, OpenOffice , Firefox or the Ubuntu bootsplash. Using a big event such as the indy500 to make promotion is an excellent idea. The only drawback is that indy500 is a polluting and a noisy event, I don’t like much care race but this time I think they have beaten my idea to place Linux in some sort of mass media event. Maybe this time I’ll watch the race ….
