Not very passionating news but since I have to type Vietnamese, then you need to a small application to help you type all those đ , ể and Ỡ.
The most well know FOSS application for this is definitively Unikey for the ubuntu breezy user like me there’s nothing because the Debian version require gcc3 (breezy use gcc4) and the ubuntu version featured on the unikey.org site is for warty that did use gcc3.
So dig a little and go to the maintainer website Mr Trung Le and download the latest incarnation of x-unikey use this one x-unikey_1.0.3-1.i386.ubuntu.deb (371.1k) and drop a line to thanks Trung.

the last time I checked x-unikey version 1.0.3, it still has some bugs which have not been patched yet. I tried compiling it on my own && also tried the deb package from the site you mentioned above with no luck. Did you manage to run it well on your PC ? I have to downgrade to version 0.9.2, this old version works flawlessly for me .

Maybe I’ll an older version to see if it still conflict with my CA-FR keyboard
